the MLA job list is out. i found 37 offers that could fit my qualifications, more or less...

You ought to be a little broader and try to find 40 and apply to 40. Remember also that ads keep coming out throughout the year and that aaal, tesol, the linguist, and the chronicle have jobs that might not be in MLA.
i just looked at the list too and in my area, i found only about 15, 10 that i could realistically apply to--but my field is a lot smaller. luckily it's only september...:)
yeah, but some of these have sept. 15 and many have sept 30 as deadlines!!! that's crazy!
