i wonder what i want to do. later, i mean. what am i expecting myself to do? what's my dream? where do i want to go? how far do i think i could go? am i going as far as i could go? what CAN i do? what do i WANT to do?

I think you would do well to browse the current job listings to get an idea of what realistic possibilities you might have. Go to ade.org and look at the job list (login 4303, psswd purdue's zip code) Then check out the linguist and the chronicle. I think you might be more optimistic abotu what you'll be doing when you see what TESOL and sociolinguistics jobs are out there and what sorts of expectations they have as far as teaching, research, and service.

By the way, I applied to a cool program that you would like. Lesley university has an MA in intercultural relations. http://www.lesley.edu/gsass/65irp.html As I say, I think there are jobs out there you would like once you finish. You really ought to take a look at them now.
