mac + word + EndNote

To all of you mac users who would like to use Word 2004 but didn't dare because it was incompatible with EndNote 7, there is an upgrade of EndNote that you can get for $20 at the Union by bringing your old disc and it IS compatible with word 2004! And I'm the pro of EndNote now, so let me know if you have any question! It's a really cool program, if you know how to use it!! And don't even THINK of writing a dissertation without it!!!

also, i used to see the EndNote menu but without the icons, so it was just blank space (it would work if i clicked on the blank spaces but it was kinda hard to get which space did what), and i've upgraded my version of word from microsoft.com/mac/ to the office X 10.1.6 version of word 2001 and now i can see the icons! yeah! and i also know what all the icons MEAN and do, now! cool!!

Endnote as a tool to help you write a dissertation is far from perfect. A few bugs I've dealt with include:

It's insistence on single-spacing all my references from time to time after I've double-spaced the whole document.

It's insistence that all references must be in the default Times font, not the one I was using.

It's insistence on destroying my integral citations. Phrases like Belcher (1994, pg 37) argues that...
are sometimes changed to Belcher (Belcher 1994) argues that...

One helpful hint it to quite Endnote when using Word unless absolutely necessary. There may be a way around some of these bugs in the preferences section, but I've never been successful in trying.

there's a way around every single one of those things, it's not bugs, it's just that you have to know where to change the preferences. i fought with that stuff forever until i learned how to fix it :) haha, be in the office tomorrow around 12, i'll show you, i'm your man!!!
